Gamma raises over £16k for UNICEF in pan-European 20th anniversary challenges

To kick off its 20th anniversary celebrations, Gamma has raised over £16,000 so far for UNICEF through a UK cycle challenge and virtual European tour.

The two challenges, held between July 11-15, 2022, saw over 200 employees and sponsors come together to raise money for the charity by cycling, walking, running or even swimming.

As part of the cycle challenge, 54 of Gamma’s employees and suppliers, divided into three teams, signed up to ride one of three legs across the UK. The three groups cycled from Scotland to the south coast of England, and then on to London to pass through all of Gamma’s five UK offices for a total of 587 miles.

Virtually, Gamma employees covered 5300 miles across the same time frame by “travelling” across Europe using a virtual tracking system.

The event also acknowledged and celebrated the company’s European expansion over the years, with colleagues in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands also taking part in the virtual event. Following the virtual journey across each of the European offices, the company shared more information on each of the companies in the Gamma Group.

Anthony Harcombe, Group Procurement Director and Chair of Gamma’s Charity Forum, said: “Gamma has a long history of supporting charities and our people have always spent time fundraising and offering their time to ‘give something back’. We are thrilled to start our 20th anniversary celebrations by raising funds for an important charity such as UNICEF.

“We’ve had an amazing response from our colleagues and suppliers, who truly put in the work (and plenty of miles) to make this event a success. We couldn’t be prouder of our team for helping us exceed our fundraising goal!”

There’s still time to help Gamma exceed its fundraising goal by donating to UNICEF here.
